Trevarefest is an annual music and culture festival held at the end of July in the idyllic fishing village of Henningsvær in Lofoten. Together with BergerudUstad+, we designed and built various festival props such as benches, signs and an outdoor DJ-stage with a backdrop of the century. The goal with the DJ-stage was firstly to protect the equipment from rain, but also to let the audience take in the beautiful landscape of Lofoten together with the DJ. Therefore we designed a stage with virtually no walls, that was held up by cross braced wires. The benches was built by using cut offs out of 50mm thick cross laminated wood slabs that were used in the previous hotel rooms at Trevarefabrikken before the recent renovations. Together with some cement blocks and a few ratchet straps we managed to design and build a few really sturdy festival benches out of reused materials. All material used in this project was repurposed (except for fasteners like bolts, screws and ratchet straps).
